BACKYARDIGANS CAST AWAY FULLThe animation is decent, since this is one of the first full CGI shows to be on Nickelodeon and for kids. I liked how the characters poke fun at stuff without being too self-aware. Since this came out when I was a big sister to my little sis, I figured that this would be a good show to teach her about imagination and turn a simple backyard into a kid's playground. The characters are pretty enjoyable, and act like kids should be and there is hardly any negativity going on in the group. The kid characters even do all sorts of stuff like racing, fighting off monsters, dressing up as pirates, spying, being astronauts, rescuing animals, all that good stuff. What I consider to be the best thing about this show is the songs and the characters and their imaginations to turn a backyard into whatever, like say a jungle, a beach, a castle, a snowy mountain, or even a far-away planet. BACKYARDIGANS CAST AWAY SERIESThe series was successful and continued to air new episodes until 2013, with 80 episodes and 4 seasons. premiere that followed on Nickelodeon a month later. The series premiered on Treehouse TV in Canada on September 11, 2004, with the U.S. This idea was scrapped because it appeared "too floaty." Janice wanted crisper movement with the animated choreography, so the movement was translated by sending a Leica to the animators. In 2001, an animated pilot starring the same four characters was accepted by Nickelodeon.Īccording to Burgess, the series was originally planned to be animated via motion capture, similar to the digital movement translation used in video games. After Nickelodeon declined to order "Me and My Friends" for a first season, the creators reworked the concept into a more-developed idea titled Backyardigans. This pilot was not animated (it starred actors in costumes instead of 3D CGI-animation) and did not feature Austin (who would not be introduced for six more years). It has roots in a declined pilot from 1998 titled "Me and My Friends". The Backyardigans did not become a regular series until 2004. Each episode is set to a different musical genre and features at least four songs, performed by the characters with original choreography. They use their imaginations to embark on fantastic adventures in their shared backyard. It centers on a group of five animal friends, Pablo the penguin, Tyrone the moose, Tasha the hippo, Austin the kangaroo, and Uniqua, a. The Backyardigans, created by Janice Burgess and airing from 2004 to 2013, was one of the first kids shows to be fitted into CGI. This series makes the backyard a whole lot of fun.
